Older wood siding and trim
Homes from the early 1900s have original clapboard, porches, and window trim with generations of paint. Careful scraping, spot-priming, and fresh caulk are what make a repaint last through Michigan winters.

Local painters, not a call center
Niles is the historic city on the St. Joseph River in Berrien County, about 15 minutes north of South Bend on US-31. It has a downtown of 19th-century brick buildings, neighborhoods of Victorian and early 1900s homes on the streets around it and along the river, post-war ranches on the edges, and rural properties in the surrounding townships.
That means a lot of original wood siding and trim with generations of paint, some of the oldest housing in our service area, plus mid-century aluminum siding and a working downtown of storefronts and offices. Niles is one of the closest Michigan communities to our South Bend base, and estimates are free.

Ranches and split-levels from the 50s through the 80s often have chalky aluminum siding that looks faded but repaints beautifully with a bonding primer, for far less than replacement.
Historic brick buildings with painted cornices, storefront trim, and office interiors need off-hours scheduling and coatings that hold up to foot traffic.
Good to know
No. Niles is part of our regular southwest Michigan service area, and our crews cover it from South Bend. Estimates are free and there is no travel charge.
Exterior paint needs surface and air temperatures above 50°F to cure, so the season in southwest Michigan runs from about May through October, a little shorter than farther south. Spring fills up first. If you want a summer date, reach out in late winter or early spring. Interior work is scheduled year-round.
Yes. Historic homes in Niles repaint very well with the right prep: scraping loose paint, sanding edges smooth, spot-priming bare wood, and caulking every joint. We match the product to the surface and the age of the home.
It can. Older homes in Niles may have layers of lead-based paint under the surface. Tell us the age of your home when you request an estimate and we will walk you through how we handle prep on older homes so dust and chips are contained.
Yes. We paint storefronts, cornices, office interiors, and restaurants in downtown Niles with after-hours and phased scheduling so your business stays open. Our crews are OSHA-trained, and we provide certificates of insurance on request.
Yes. Berrien and Cass counties along US-31 and US-12 are inside our regular service area.

"This company is OUTSTANDING. Honestly, I won't have enough space here to express the professionalism of the entire team - all of them. They took on a daunting task of scraping and painting TWO historic bungalows with exteriors that had not seen much love over the years. Picture original wood siding that has baked for over 100 years in the Florida sun. And they wouldn't let me feel bad for all of the peeling paint they removed! Everyone smiled, were fun, pleasant, and most importantly, worked their butts off from early morning until the sun went down. Lastly, I first pursued using a local painter but never received a response. Brothers Colors contacted me immediately and were over for a very reasonable quote in a very short turnaround time. So impressive, from start to finish"
"Patrick and his team were efficient, professional, friendly. Patrick personally assisted on our home interior painting job, and did a thorough walk-through to ensure we were completely satisfied with their work. When one small spot was identified he corrected it himself, and even returned the next day to ensure the final touch-up was to our satisfaction. They did a beautiful job - it was a pleasure working with this company, and we will be a repeat customer for future work."
"Patrick was very professional and his team does exceptional work! I would definitely recommend him to everyone who needs a special touch to add value to their loving home! I will be calling him for all my future house painting projects!"
"I hired this company to paint exterior of my house. They did an excellent job. Prompt, professional and reasonably priced. Knowledgeable painters with attention to detail. Thorough preparation, excellent and responsive communication. Finished quicker than anticipated. Very happy with results"
