House Painting in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Fort Wayne is the second-largest city in Indiana and the seat of Allen County, and its housing runs the full range. Close to downtown you have West Central and Williams-Woodland Park, where Greek Revival, Italianate, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival and Prairie School homes were built between roughly 1875 and 1940. Out southwest in Aboite Township and north along the Dupont Road corridor, the builds are recent: vinyl and fiber cement siding, brick fronts, and neighborhoods with an association and an approved color list.
Those two ends of the city need very different work. A century-old home with wood clapboard, deep eaves and original trim is a prep job first and a paint job second, and anything built before 1978 has to be treated as lead-paint work. A fifteen-year-old build in Aboite usually needs a wash, fresh caulk at every joint, and a bonding primer on chalky siding. We quote both the same way: we look at the actual surfaces, tell you what the prep will take, and put it in writing before anything starts.
